Fatherson @ Pianos

Fatherson is a three-piece alternative rock outfit from Scotland. Their latest full-length album Sum Of All Your Parts released in September of 2018 is an impressive example of modern rock with compelling verses that crescendo to powerful choruses that pack a punch. Most recently they released a reimagination of select songs from Sum Of All Your Parts that are chill and ethereal interpretations of those songs.

Fatherson made the trip to the US to play the New Colossus Festival in the Lower East Side of NYC and SXSW in Austin Texas. They stopped by Pianos for their second of three sets during the New Colossus Festival to bring their infectious music to lower-east siders. Lead singer and guitarist Ross Leighton, Bassist Marc Strain, and Drummer Greg Walkinshaw took to the stage in all white as a cohesive unit and opened the set with one of the singles off of Sum Of All Your Parts, “Making Waves”. The setlist went on to include others off the record like “Gratitude”, “The Landscape”, “Ghost”, and “Charm School”. They have a magnetic stage presence that enthralled new fans in audience. New Colossus is over now but make sure to check them out at SXSW if you’re in the Austin, TX area because you’ll definitely be hearing more from Fatherson in the future.
