The Frights brought their headlining tour to Dallas, TX and played to a packed room at Tree’s.
The doors opened and the crowd eagerly waited to let loose to their favorite tunes. Up first was Hot Flash Heat Wave, a rock band from Davis, California. My first time seeing Hot Flash Heat Wave was earlier this year at Love Goat in Austin, TX during SXSW. Being able to actually see them this time made their performance even more exceptional! The crowd loved them. They were dancing and singing along and some even crowd surfed. They played a plethora of songs off both their records “Neapolitan” and “Soaked” a crowd favorite was “Gutter Girl”
Hunny took the stage and got the crowd so hype. The last time Hunny played Dallas they played to a sold out show at Three Links so I knew their set would be amazing. The lead singer interacted with crowd consistently and even wore a cow printed cowboy hat, very on brand for Hunny. Hunny played played songs from “Window’s I” such as “Shy” and “Gliding the Lily” and some new songs off of “Windows II” like “Rebel Red” and “Kicking Cans”. The crowd really let loose during Hunny’s set and even started a mosh pit!
The Frights finally took the stage and started off a high energy set with a classic off of their album “You Are Going To Hate This” called “Kids” and transitioned into “Cold” from their self titled album! Shooting this set was fun solely because of how much fun the crowd was having! The energy the crowd gave them was unreal. The Frights played a ton of new songs off their album “Hypochondriac” such as “CRUTCH”, “Whatever”, “Over It”, “Me and We and I”, “Hold Me Down”, and “Alone”. The Frights came back out for an encore and ended their set with title track off their second ep “You Are Going To Hate This”. IF you’re a fan of rock/alternative music and don’t already listen to The Frights, you’re missing out! Check out below for future tour dates!
