It was a packed house at Terminal 5 Friday night, as the bustling crowd awaited the stacked line up of Manchester Orchestra, Tigers Jaw, and Foxing to take the stage. Foxing kicked off the night with their charisma, and signature atmospheric tunes. The highlight of their set was when they played tracks “Rory” and “the Magdalene.” Soon after Tigers Jaw graced the stage with their set consisting of mainly tracks from their latest effort Spin, however they didn’t neglect playing some classic tracks like “The Sun.”
Headliners Manchester Orchestra set out on this tour in support of their latest release A Black Mile to the Surface, which is undoubtedly their best release to date. Manchester Orchestra opened up their set with album opener “The Maze.” Their 17 track setlist was the perfect split between tracks from their new full length and their classics. The quintet went from playing new tracks like “The Gold,” “The Moth,” and “The Alien,” to play fan favorites “Shake it Out” ” I Can Feel a Hot One” “I’ve Got Friends” & “The River.” The highlight of the set was when they performed encore track “100 Dollars.” Seeing fans wrap their arms around their friends as they belted the lyrics so loudly that Andy Hull backed away from the mic to let the crowd take over, was a magical experience.
