Formed in 2015 and consisting of Joe Jonas (lead vocals), Cole Whittle (bass, keyboards), JinJoo Lee (guitar), and Jack Lawless (drums), DNCE made a stop in the Alamo City this past Friday to deliver the most electrifying performance to stick a new definition and new standards to meet when referring to a pop show. Walking onto the stage to the Star Wars Theme, the band kicked off their set with Naked and transitioning into “DNCE.” The band’s setlist features songs from the SWAAY EP and covers from The Chainsmokers, Britney Spears and more.
DNCE is nominated for best duo or group of the year and best cover song at the annual iHeartRadio Awards, which will be held Sunday, March 5 at the Forum in Inglewood.
I’ve been counting down the days until January 27, 2017 ever since I saw the announcements of the tour date. I, as every other teenage girl in the mid to late 2000’s went through a Jonas Brothers craze, with no shame to admit. Seeing frontman Joe Jonas again takes me back to July 9, 2008 when I was first given the opportunity to see his previous band, the Jonas Brothers, and it was so bittersweet.
